Barry Benton – Family Vacation Photographer and Unofficial photographer of sons’ activities.
On a family vacation road trip with his parents, sometime in the 70’s, somewhere between Denham Springs, LA and the Colorado Rockies, Barry began taking photographs out the car window of nothing much flying by at 75 mph. Lots of photos. So many photos that he promised his parents that he’d become a professional photographer one day and pay them back for all the film and processing. Never did pay them back. Barry is now the Managing Partner of a family and executive portrait studio in Dallas, TX that has served the Dallas and Collin County areas since the 1920’s. Barry is married to Debra Benton and they have two children, Andrew and Jason. Barry currently serves on the Star Children’s Charity Board of Directors. He and his wife previously served on The 500, Inc. Board of Directors and directed ARTFEST, one of the largest juried arts festivals in the southwest. Barry still takes photos out of the car window at 75 MPH. But, now he’s also driving.
